h1>Finnish Customs rules for sending goods and private parcels outside the EU

When sending your parcels from Finland outside the European Union, Finnish Customs will require you to declare your shipment.

A declaration is required if you:

  •  send the goods for repair or replacement;
  • temporarily export the goods, for example, to an exhibition;
  • carry commercial cargo in your luggage;
  • send goods by any transport operator other than Posti

You must complete the export declaration in advance, before your parcel reaches customs.

You can submit the declaration yourself on the Finnish Customs website using your bank codes and personal ID (for residents of Finland) or use the services of an operator. Please note that it is important to fill out the declaration correctly and indicate the correct customs codes. You will also need an invoice for the cargo, even if you are sending a gift parcel. A sample invoice for a private parcel can be found at Finnish Customs or downloaded here.

If you would like us to complete the declaration for you, simply tick the appropriate box on our parcel order form.
