The system of cargo hazard classes was developed by the UN and includes 9 main categories, which specify the characteristics of a particular cargo:

The air transportation of dangerous goods is regulated by the relevant UN standards. When transporting dangerous goods by air, in particular, it is necessary to comply with a number of rules:

  • Marking of goods according to the classifier, application of danger signs in accordance with the instructions for the safe international transport of dangerous goods by air of ICAO (IATA).
  • Declaration of dangerous goods: air waybill - AWB, declaration of dangerous goods - "Dangerous Goods Declaration".
  • Compliance with packaging and storage requirements in accordance with the ICAO (IATA) Instructions for the Safe International Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.
